Description
This study examines the Compulsory School-Developed course “Embracing AI Tools: Exploring Real-Life Changes through Music Creation” at Taipei First Girls High School. Drawing upon the concepts from Atomic Habits and the school’s interdisciplinary program “Real-Life Action for Change,” the project investigates how AI-generated music can serve as a medium for reinterpreting school identity and culture.Students used AI tools such as Suno and Producer.AI to rearrange and reimagine the school anthem, transforming it into a contemporary musical expression that reflects the current generation’s sense of self and vision for their alma mater. The course followed a three-stage Design Thinking framework—awareness, action, and change—connecting music creation with personal reflection and collective identity.Throughout the process, students collaborated across disciplines (Music, Language, Art, and Technology) to compose lyrics, generate melodies, and refine production aesthetics using AI tools. The findings reveal that AI-assisted composition not only empowers students to express their individuality but also fosters empathy, critical thinking, and enhanced creativity. Moreover, the reinterpretation of the school anthem symbolizes a paradigm shift in music education—from static inheritance to dynamic co-creation—where AI serves not as a replacement for human creativity, but as a catalyst for deeper meaning-making and authentic engagement in real-life learning contexts. In the future of professional music education, intelligent interactive systems driven by music AI technology will redefine how we perceive, think about, create, and teach music.
