Description
This text aims to describe the collaborative work between the projects that has been taking place since 2018. The Recorder in Perspective Project is an extension project of UNESPAR (State University of Paraná) - Curitiba I Campus - EMBAP (School of Music and Fine Arts) and is coordinated by professors Tatiane Wiese Mathias and Plínio Silva. The issue of traditional music of various countries is addressed by Plínio Silva's research. This repertoire is explored by the group of recorder players, and is important to the training of both musicians and audiences who attend concerts (SILVA and GUARIENTE, 2018; SIQUEIRA 2013). Motivation is considered through the perspective of flow, which can be defined as an experience of great engagement and concentration in an activity, which can lead to a loss of track of time, as well as feelings of joy and satisfaction (Csikszentmihalyi, 1992, 1999, 2014, 2020). The research sought to investigate the presence of flow in the context of Hausmusik, employing the method of case study. Fifteen recorder players aged 13 to 64, who had between 2 and 50 years of experience with the instrument, participated in the study. When asked about their feelings of joy and pleasure in playing, 80% responded "always" and 20% "almost always." Regarding their satisfaction with the results achieved during Hausmusik, 66.7% responded "always" and 33.3% "almost always." When asked about their desire to play more after their performance, 73.3% responded "always," 20% "almost always," and 6.7% "occasionally." Regarding their desire to overcome performance challenges, 53.3% responded "always," 26.7% "almost always," and 20% "occasionally." Regarding dettachment from external situations during Hausmusik, 40% responded "always," 46.7% "almost always," 6.7% "occasionally," and 6.7% "rarely." Thus, the results demonstrated the possibility of flow as a meaningful performance experience. The recorder players highlighted group performance, playing and meeting people of different ages and backgrounds, the welcoming environment, and the strengthening of family and friendship ties as important motivational aspects of collaborative work across projects.
