Description
Thank you so much for your feedback. I appreciate your recognition of the interest and relevance for this topic. In response to your request, please accept the following information to provide greater clarity regarding the methodology, participants, and research process. Methodology - This study draws on sustained reflective analysis of studio teaching, dialogue with music education professionals, and comparative examination of curriculum structures across diverse instructional contexts over four decades of teaching practice. Participants - The participants informing this inquiry include: 1. Music students across a range of ages, abilities, and learning profiles, and 2. Music education professionals engaged through collegial discussion and professional development settings. Research Process - The research process followed an experience-based, reflective practitioner approach. Over time, teaching experiences were examined through reflective practice and professional dialogue, with attention to how curriculum decisions shaped student agency, engagement, and musical outcomes. Through iterative reflection and refinement, four curriculum models emerged. Case studies of students were selected to illustrate how these models support or constrain equitable and culturally responsive teaching practices. Thank you again for your constructive guidance in strengthening the clarity of this submission.
