Description
This study , primary to examine the theory and practice of Creative Music Making (CMM). Its purpose is to research, organize, and analyze the Japanese method of teaching CMM, introduce the method into the field of music education in Sichuan, China, and use this study as a primary case of music education to improve students' creativity and creative thinking.According to the available references and the interview survey conducted in this study, CMM is yet to be developed and popularized in China. On the other hand, CMM has been developed in Japan for over 60 years since its introduction, and its system is more mature. The study consists of three phases: literature review, interview surveys, and questionnaire surveys in China and Japan; case studies and summaries in Japan; and CMM practice lessons in China. A systematic evaluation of CMM in China has shown very uneven results. Although there are many studies on CMM, these case studies lack understanding and skill perception of CMM. A concrete understanding of the practice and development of CMM requires theoretical knowledge and its integration into practice. Through these empirical studies and teaching case studies, I reconfirmed the following three points: clarifying the characteristics and roles of music composition: creating, expanding, and connecting. Proactive guidance from the teacher, with no “wrong answers” as well as rules for organizing the g activities. “Anyone can make music.” The interviews revealed that music teachers in Sichuan, China, were relatively poorly informed about CMM. However, many teachers need learning opportunities, knowledge exchange, and practice to make CMM a reality in China. Based on the results of this research, it is expected to contribute to implementing educational policies by proposing CMM that can be implemented in China. In addition, through the research results from an international perspective, proposal for a suitable program to be introduced in China .In this poster, I will report on the integration of CMM with China’s national teaching guidelines and its application in elementary school classrooms in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. The report will include analysis and summary of this practice, followed by a plan for the second round of implementation.
