Description
The common origin of poetry, music, and dance is a globally recognized historical fact. This shared origin is also reflected in the field of education across different civilizations. In China, there is a long-standing tradition of music-integrated education, which combines poetry, music, and dance into a holistic pedagogical practice. However, as society has evolved, poetry education and music education have gradually diverged, becoming distinct disciplines under literature and music, respectively. In contemporary society, the growing demand for interdisciplinary talents has made cross-disciplinary learning an important focus in school education. Thus, the forms and contents of traditional music-integrated education might serve as a reference for the emerging demands of school education.Within the discipline of music, ancient poetry songs—a genre with dual aesthetic value: literary and musical—are diverse in form and rich in historical depth. They not only embody cultural, aesthetic, and educational significance but also serve as a bridge between literature and music across time, thereby facilitating interdisciplinary learning. This paper examines, from an interdisciplinary perspective, teaching strategies for ancient poetry songs in school music classes. Based on a literature review and practical research, this proposal presents a teaching model centered on aesthetic experience and guided by disciplinary integration. Specifically, by leveraging multidimensional elements—including imagery, musicality, language, spiritual depth, and emotion—embedded in the musical material, the study aims to deepen students’ development from musical perception to aesthetic experience through activities such as listening, singing, movement, and reflection. Furthermore, supported by modern tools such as AI-powered models, this approach seeks to transcend temporal barriers, enhance practical utility, and leverage the integrative advantages of ancient poetry songs. The ultimate goal is to develop an interdisciplinary teaching framework that promotes knowledge synthesis, aesthetic engagement, humanistic cultivation, and multidisciplinary perspectives to nurture modern talents with comprehensive cultural literacy.
