Description
Humanistic psychology emerged in the United States in the 1950s and 1960s, rapidly developed in the 1970s and 1980s, and is one of the main schools of contemporary psychology in the United States. It opposes behaviorism that equates humans with animals, only studies human behavior, and does not understand human nature. It also criticizes Freud for only studying neurosis and mental patients, without examining the psychology of normal people, and is therefore known as the third movement in psychology. The humanistic psychology school represented by Maslow, Rogers, and others diverged from the psychoanalytic and behaviorist schools, forming the third trend of psychology. The educational philosophy of humanistic psychology holds that in teaching, we should adhere to the principle of "putting students' development at the center" and promote their comprehensive physical and mental development. Respect students and establish a good teacher-student relationship during the teaching process. Meanwhile, humanistic psychology also emphasizes the need to stimulate students' interest in learning and enable them to engage in "meaningful learning". Based on the above characteristics, comparing with the latest round of basic education reform in China, it can be found that there are many similarities between the two. Therefore, the author attempts to integrate humanistic psychology with music teaching, aiming to find a feasible path for the reform of music education. The author puts forward several suggestions for the application of humanistic psychology theory in middle school music teaching in the future: firstly, schools should take specific measures to implement relevant policies, strengthen the cultivation of teachers' humanistic theory, and improve their humanistic literacy; Secondly, we hope that experts in psychology and Peking Opera can explore more humanistic teaching methods in Peking Opera teaching and conduct research to continuously improve the teaching methods under humanistic theory, providing some help for future practical teaching.
