This research is justified by the need to critically revisit the foundations of modern and contemporary dance from the innovative perspective of the musical landscape. Isadora Duncan and Pina Bausch represent crucial milestones of rupture, and despite the vast literature on their works, the comparative analysis of their musical choices as a point of aesthetic confluence remains an insufficiently explored field. The Goal is to analyze the aesthetic and artistic confluence between Pina Bausch's Tanztheater and Isadora Duncan’s Expressionism, identifying how the innovations of both artists utilized musical sonorities on stage. The Methodology employs a qualitative and exploratory approach. An exhaustive bibliographic and videographic survey will be conducted to identify the innovative artistic elements of each performer, including the use of the body and, crucially, the relationship between movement and the musical landscape. The study will proceed with a detailed comparative analysis of these characteristics, observing points of similarity (such as the quest for authentic expression) and divergence, seeking to identify where there is a confluence between their works in terms of their choices of musical elements. Among the Expected Results, the research anticipates outlining a framework where expressive freedom and subjectivity, essential to Duncan's Expressionism, resonate and find a new level of development in the fusion of dance and theater proposed by Bausch. The work aims to demonstrate that not only the deconstruction of form and the primacy of emotion over technique are convergent axes, but also the reinterpretation, or deconstruction, of the relationship between dance and musical elements. The investigation into the legacy of Duncan (music as organic inspiration) and Bausch (sound as a dramaturgical fragment and silence) offers essential groundwork for choreographers and researchers seeking new avenues for contemporary design on the relationship between music and dance. This is part of a broader research, still in progress, which aims to bring as outcome innovative elements into a music-dance performance.
